Mexico / A destination for many kinds of hunters

Find the hunt
that brings you here.

Mexico offers very different experiences from one region to the next: turkey hunting in the mountains of Zacatecas, deer in Sonora and Baja, sheep in the northwest, and dense jungle in Campeche. Start with the species you want to pursue, then choose the setting, dates and camp that fit.

Turkey hunting / Mountains & jungle

Two extraordinary
turkey adventures.

Gould’s turkey · Zacatecas

4 hunting days · Early April–late May
Hunt a private 24,000-acre mountain ranch, traveling by vehicle to scouted areas before continuing on foot with your guide. The program centers on calling birds in hillside country. Arrive through Zacatecas City (ZCL). The eight-bedroom mountain cabin has full bathrooms, hot showers and solar power. Lodging, meals, beverages and ground transport are advertised; ask about available shotguns and exact inclusions.

Ocellated turkey · Campeche

5 hunting days · March–May
Trade open mountain slopes for tropical forest. The Campeche program covers more than 200,000 acres of jungle and offers ocellated turkey hunts with the possibility of other jungle species at additional trophy fees. Discuss any combination hunt in advance, including permits, dates and the assigned camp.

Desert mule deer · Sonora

6 days · 1:1 guiding · December–January
Use high-rack 4×4 vehicles and tracking on foot to cover desert country. Ranch-house lodging includes full-size beds, heated rooms, hot showers, flush toilets and generator power. Arrival is through Hermosillo International Airport. Ask about a Coues deer addition after a mule deer, with an extra trophy fee.

Coues whitetail · Sonora

5 days · December–January
Glassing and spot-and-stalk hunting in rolling desert hills define this pursuit of a small, elusive whitetail. Vehicles provide access before the hunt continues on foot. Discuss terrain, walking pace and the guiding arrangement when requesting your quote.

Central Plateau whitetail · Zacatecas

5 days · December–January
Hunt mountain country at approximately 6,500–8,500 feet. Access by 4×4 is followed by glassing and stalking through hills and canyons; a ground blind may be used around active trails or water. Plan for elevation and uneven terrain.

Carmen Mountain whitetail · Coahuila

4 days · December–January
Explore the Sierra del Burro in oak-and-pine mountain country. The advertised lodge accommodates up to six hunters, with heated rooms, full bathrooms and prepared meals. Arrival through Monterrey is followed by an approximately six-hour drive, or a separately arranged charter.

Crooki mule deer

Late November–mid-January
Pursue deer in desert valleys with mesquite, yucca and prickly pear. The listed approaches include spot-and-stalk, horseback and high-rack trucks. Elevations range roughly from 4,200 to 7,000 feet. Request the current hunt length, ranch and arrival arrangements.

Baja blacktail · Northern Baja

5 days · 1:1 guiding · Mid-October–December
A free-range program on approximately 130,000 acres combines high-rack vehicles with stalking from small hills. Up to four hunters are advertised for a hunt period. Pickup options are listed for Tijuana or San Diego; confirm the exact route and any border arrangements.

Northwestern Mexico / Desert bighorn sheep

Mountain hunting.
Two distinct options.

Free-range desert bighorn

10 days · November–March
Programs are described for mainland Sonora and southern Baja. Vehicles or four-wheelers provide access, with glassing and stalking on foot. Tented base camps have bathroom facilities and electricity; spike camps may be used to reach hunting country. Discuss fitness, access and the exact concession before booking.

High-fence desert bighorn

2 days · November–March
A separate fenced-ranch option uses mountain terrain within the property. Listed accommodations include private bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms, shared indoor spaces and prepared meals. Ask for the ranch details and hunting conditions so your choice matches your expectations.

Dove & scaled quail

Zacatecas · 3–5 days · November–February
Combine mourning and white-winged dove with wild scaled quail around grain fields, cover and water. Most dove and quail drives are advertised as less than 30 minutes from the hacienda base. Build the combination around your group’s preferences.

Ducks, geese & cranes

Zacatecas · 3–5 days · November–February
Waterfowl outings can complement dove and quail. Listed opportunities include teal, pintail, wigeon, redhead, canvasback and other ducks, plus snow and specklebelly geese and sandhill cranes. Drives are described as about 45–90 minutes. Confirm species, limits and current permissions.

Wild pheasant

Mexicali Valley · October–November
Hunt wild ring-necked pheasant in agricultural country near the California–Mexico border, with field assistance. The camp is described as having comfortable beds, en-suite bathrooms, hot showers and Mexican and international meals. Ask about trip length and arrival arrangements.

the jungle.

Gray brocket deer

Mid-March–mid-May
Hunt small, wary deer in dense Campeche forest using blinds or stalking, with 4×4 access to the hunting area. Thick vegetation makes this a very different challenge from the northern desert hunts.

Red brocket deer

February–May
The southern Campeche program focuses on red brocket in tropical conditions. Camp uses tents with running-water bathrooms and showers. Ask about the best timing for deer activity and compatible additional species.

Central American whitetail

Tropical whitetail dates listed: September–December
This southern Campeche option is presented alongside the jungle camp program. Request a species-specific itinerary, current dates and confirmed camp details before choosing the hunt.

Additional jungle interests

Other advertised interests include great curassow, crested guan, collared peccary, puma, coati, agouti, paca (tepezcuintle), great tinamou, chachalaca and scaled pigeon. Availability, legal hunting permissions and trophy transport must be confirmed for each species and itinerary.

Where you stay / Matched to your hunt

From mountain cabins
to jungle camps.

There is no single lodge for all these hunts. Your destination determines whether you stay in a mountain cabin, ranch house, hacienda, tented base camp or jungle camp.

Mountain & ranch stays

The Gould’s turkey program uses an eight-bedroom mountain cabin with solar power. Sonora mule deer hunts use ranch houses, while the Carmen Mountain program lists heated lodge accommodations for up to six hunters.

Bird-hunting bases

Zacatecas combination hunts are based around a hacienda ranch. The Mexicali pheasant camp lists en-suite bathrooms and hot showers. Ask which rooms and facilities are assigned to your group.

Field & jungle camps

Free-range sheep programs use tented base camps, sometimes with spike camps. The southern Campeche program lists tents with running-water bathrooms and showers. Request the camp details for the exact hunt you choose.
